Sacrament of Anointing

Anyone dealing with a serious illness of a physical, mental, or spiritual nature is encouraged to call the parish office. While especially important for those nearing death, the celebration of this sacrament is also encouraged for those in the hospital or confronting surgery. Please call the parish office before entering the hospital to arrange for the anointing. In cases of emergency, all area hospitals have priests on call.

Sacrament of Confirmation

Confirmation is one of the sacraments of initiation in the Catholic Church and is rooted in our baptismal call of discipleship. Confirmation has developed into a process that prepares adolescents to grow in understanding of their faith so that they may make adult faith decisions.

At Christ the King, the process begins during the freshman or sophomore year of high school and lasts approximately 12 months. The process involves faith formation classes, retreats, and service experiences. Contact contact the parish office 816-363-4888 ext. 120.
